According to recent rumours, Manchester City’s right-back has agreed to personal terms with Bayern Munich on a 2 year contract that would keep him at the club until 2025, with the option of an additional year.
Walker, who has been in Manchester for 6 years, was offered a two-year extension earlier this month. However, having won the triple with City, it appears that the Englishman is ready to conquer new territory.
Walker has been a key member of Pep Guardiola’s dominant Manchester City team since coming from Tottenham in 2017, winning 5 league titles and most recently, a long-awaited Champions League trophy.
Walker even revealed his wish to remain in Manchester last month. But he now appears to be ready for a new challenge and the rumoured £15 million ($19 million) transfer to Bayern Munich might be the perfect chance for him to secure a starting eleven spot.
Joao Cancelo, who spent the second half of last season on loan in Germany, is still part of negotiations between City and Bayern Munich, but it now seems as though those discussions may eventually turn to Kyle Walker.
By signing Walker, Bayern will be able to part ways with French right-back Benjamin Pavardd and will also provide them with a sure-fire starter in the squad for the season to come.
