Sadio Mane joins Cristiano Ronaldo at Saudi side Al Nassr after Bayern Munich exit

On Tuesday, Al Nassr confirmed the signing of Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich.

The Senegalese international is another significant signing to the cash-rich Saudi league, where he will team up with five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

Both clubs confirmed the signing of the former Liverpool star, which German media r estimated at around 30 million euros, with Mane earning 40 million euros per year plus 10 million in results-based bonuses.

Mane was a key part of Jurgen Klopp’s devastating front three, which also included Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, and won the Champions League and Premier League in 6 seasons with Liverpool.

He signed for Bayern after winning the African Player of the Year award in 2022. The season had a great start, but it quickly became evident that Mane was struggling in Bavaria.

Mane suffered a fibula injury in a Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen in November, putting his season on hold.

Senegal’s hopes were shattered when he was forced to miss the World Cup in Qatar at the end of last year because of his injury.

While Mane returned to the Bayern team in 2023, his problems came to light when he got into a violent brawl with teammate Leroy Sane after a Champions League defeat against Manchester City.

He completed the season with 12 goals in 38 games across all competitions.
