The deadline for Tottenham Hotspur to accept Bayern Munich’s most recent offer for Kane is Friday at midnight, as per The Telegraph. If a deal with Tottenham cannot be reached, the German champions are considering alternative transfer targets.
All parties involved, including Kane, want his future resolved as soon as possible, probably before Spurs’ first Premier League game against Brentford next Sunday. If Bayern can not reach an agreement, Kane is expected to stay at Tottenham for the last year of his contract before leaving on a free transfer next summer.
Bayern Munich is expected to pay a club-record transfer price of €100 million (£86.1 million/$109.5) to secure their primary target. There is currently a £20 million difference between the two clubs when negotiations in London took place between Spurs chairman Daniel Levy and Bayern’s chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe.
Kane is happy to stay at Tottenham and consider his options later in the season if a deal cannot be reached. In January, he may sign a pre-contract with Bayern, as well as with Manchester United, who have long admired his skill. In that case, he will continue to play in the Premier League, allowing him to focus on breaking Alan Shearer’s Premier League record of 260 goals, which he is now 48 short of the magic number.
