Lionel Messi finally reveals the reason behind his Marvel superhero celebrations

The arrival of Lionel Messi at Inter Miami has taken America by storm. But it’s not simply his goals and assists that draw attention. His celebrations also grabbed the attention of fans all across the world.

Messi has been seen performing Marvel-themed celebrations after scoring goals. When Messi scored against Atlanta United, numerous reports claimed that he performed the ‘Hold my beer’ celebration, referring to Inter Miami owner David Beckham. But the reason was explained later on when Antonela Roccuzzo reposted the story with a Thor sticker indicating that the celebration was inspired by Thor recalling his hammer, ‘Mjolnir’.

Fans liked the celebration, but he continued on the theme with a brace against Orlando City FC. Messi then moved on to the next Marvel superhero, Black Panther, and scored the goal while imitating the ‘Wakanda Forever’ pose.

Despite being in excellent form, Messi’s Marvel-themed celebrations suddenly slowed, but he eventually got back into the spirit and pulled off the neighbourhood Spiderman’s web-shooting celebration when he scored against Charlotte FC in the Leagues Cup quarterfinals.

Fans began to wonder about the reason for his Marvel-themed celebrations and it was revealed in a recent interview with the Miami Herald that his children, Mateo, Circo and Thiago, haven’t begun their schooling since moving to Miami and regularly watch Marvel movies with them, leading to the celebrations. Messi stated that the idea for Marvel-themed celebrations came from his children. However, Messi also stated that his celebrations are mainly for home fans and when his kids are nearby.
