This match celebrated Messi’s record-breaking 8th Ballon d’Or win, which he received at a formal ceremony in Paris last month. No other player in football history has won the Ballon d’Or more than five times.

On the field, Messi, who currently plays for Major League Soccer (MLS) team Inter Miami, was greeted by a crowd that was eager to witness this historic event. He walked on a gold carpet specially laid out for the ceremony, holding the coveted trophy in his left hand.

Among those waiting to greet Messi were MLS Commissioner Don Garber and Inter Miami owners Jorge and Jose Mas. As Messi lifted the Ballon d’Or trophy overhead, the crowd erupted in cheers,  symbolizing his achievement incredible and his status as the greatest football player of all time.

To me, it is something beautiful to share with you,” Messi said. “I’ve only been here a little while but it really feels like I’ve been here a long time.”
