Recently, Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghoshal came to the popular game show Kaun Banega Crorepati 16, hosted by Amitabh Bachchan as special guests. The singers were performing in aid of the nonprofit Smit Foundation, which offers senior citizens housing and care.
Amitabh remembered how his son Abhishek Bachchan was committed to community duty from a young age as he was talking to Sonu and Shreya. Sonu and Shreya talked about the importance of doing acts of kindness and the charity work that the Smit Foundation does. Amitabh adds, “Abhishek studied in a foreign school where, instead of traditional punishments, students were encouraged to participate in community service. I recall him spending an entire day at an old age home, which was instrumental in shaping his sense of responsibility and compassion.”
A little later in the show, Yojana, the proprietor of the Smit Foundation, received a standing ovation from him. Amitabh ji quotes, “Aaj ke din yeh manch bhi aap hi ka ghar hai.”
The KBC 16 is the official Hindi adaptation of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. As a ritual, Amitabh Bachchan will be hosting the next season. Though Shah Rukh Khan took over as the host for the third season. The show can be watched on Sony Entertainment Television and the Sony Liv app.
