Fans of the iconic crime thriller CID have a reason to rejoice as its second season will now be available to stream on Netflix, in addition to Sony LIV. The show, which originally premiered on Sony TV in 1998 and ran for two decades, made a grand return with Season 2 on December 21, 2024.
Netflix India announced the news on Thursday, stating, “CID, ab Netflix ke darwaze par bhi. Kal se dekhiye CID naye season ke saare released episodes Netflix par bhi! Saath hi naye episodes har Shanivaar aur Ravivaar raat 10 baje. #CIDonNetflix”. The first 18 episodes of the new season will be available on Netflix from February 21, with fresh episodes releasing every Saturday and Sunday at 10 PM, starting from February 22.
Starring Shivaji Satam, Dayanand Shetty, and Aditya Srivastava, CID remains one of India’s longest-running TV series. Over the years, it has gained a cult following, thanks to its gripping crime investigations and unforgettable characters. The cast also includes Narendra Gupta, Ansha Sayed, and Ajay Nagrath in key roles.
The show, which completed 1,500 episodes, originally wrapped up in 2018. Its return in 2024 has been met with enthusiasm, and now with Netflix adding it to its library, fans have more ways to enjoy the series. CID Season 2 continues to air on Sony TV and Sony LIV, making it more accessible than ever.
