Shreyas Iyer Denies Injury Rumors; Confirms Availability for Next Ranji Match

Indian cricketer Shreyas Iyer has dismissed recent reports claiming he would miss Mumbai’s next Ranji Trophy match due to a shoulder injury. Iyer, fresh off a match-winning 142-run knock against Maharashtra, took to social media to refute the claims, criticizing a user for spreading false information.

The right-handed cricketer responded to a post on X (formerly Twitter) that incorrectly suggested he was set to miss the next game due to injury. “Guys, seriously, let’s do some homework before publishing news,” Iyer wrote. The post, which cited a report from Cricbuzz, was later deleted.

Rumors had circulated that Iyer would be unavailable for Mumbai’s upcoming match against Tripura, scheduled for October 26 at the Maharaja Bir Bikram College Stadium, Agartala. Reports suggested Iyer needed at least a week of rest, but the cricketer was quick to clarify his fitness and availability for the game.

Iyer’s recent century marked a strong return to form, helping Mumbai secure victory after a surprise defeat to Baroda in their opening Ranji fixture. “No matter what people think outside, I listen to my body and will make the right decision based on my health,” Iyer stated after his performance. The 29-year-old cricketer’s declaration puts an end to speculation as Mumbai aims for another win in the prestigious domestic tournament.
