The Indian captain slammed the ground three times in frustration and even appeared to mutter angrily to himself, visibly disappointed after letting the chance slip.

Axar Patel, introduced into the attack, struck twice in two balls, dismissing Tanzid Hasan and Mushfiqur Rahim. The left-arm spinner was on the verge of a rare Champions Trophy hat-trick, only for Rohit Sharma to drop an easy chance off Jaker Ali at first slip.

Realizing his mistake, Rohit hit the ground thrice with his hand and muttered angrily to himself, clearly furious over missing the golden opportunity. Axar, too, had his hands on his head in disbelief.
