Young batter Shivam Deepak Kothari has been named in Mumbai’s squad for the upcoming two matches of the Under-19 Cooch Behar Trophy 2025–26, following his standout performance in the K.C. Mahindra Shield earlier this season.
Kothari recently made headlines with a composed knock of 112 off 218 balls, marking his maiden century under the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) setup) — an innings that showcased his patience, technique, and temperament under pressure. His strong showing played a key role in earning him a place in Mumbai’s U-19 setup for the national youth tournament.
The MCA Under-19 Selection Committee, chaired by Ravi Kulkarni along with Prashant Sawant, Zulfiqar Parkar, Amit Dani, and Umesh Gotkhindkar, announced the 18-member squad that will represent Mumbai in the opening two matches of the season.
Mumbai will kick off their Cooch Behar Trophy Elite campaign against Vidarbha from November 16 to 19, 2025, at the VCA Stadium, Civil Lines, Nagpur. The four-day youth first-class fixture will be crucial as both teams look to begin their campaign with early momentum.
The team will be led by Aryan Sakpal (captain and wicketkeeper), with several rising stars including Raza Mirza, Abhinab Saha, Aryan Patil, Harsh Gaikar, Himanshu Singh, and Vansh Chumble joining Kothari in the squad.
