IPL 2021: RCB batsman Devdutt Padikkal is most likely to play next match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on 14th April

The opening pair was at concern for RCB with a makeshift pair of Washington Sundar and Virat Kohli did no justice to this.

Devdutt Padikkal was one of the top performers for the RCB in the previous IPL season. Despite scoring two half-centuries against the Mumbai Indians last year, the 20-year-old was absent in the RCB playing XI for their first match of IPL 2021. Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli were set to open the innings for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have received a boost before their second game of IPL 2021, against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Devdutt Padikdal, who was diagnosed COVID positive earlier is now available for selection.

RCB had a great start to their IPL 2021 campaign. In their first match, they beat the defending champions Mumbai Indians by 2 Wickets in Chennai’s M Chidambaram stadium. RCB is looking to continue the momentum. The way Allen and Padikkal batted in one of the intra-squad practice match suggests both are ready to contribute to the team.

Padikkal had to endure an even longer period of isolation – 14 days. He was very relieved at being out of the quarantine and with the team.

The opening pair was at concern with a makeshift pair of Washington Sundar and Virat Kohli did no justice to this. The pair was assembled following Devdutt Padikkal’s absence due to testing COVID-19 positive.

But looks like, the opening scare for RCB will be solved as Devdutt Padikkal might be available for selection in RCB’s next match on 14th against SRH.
