On Monday, Nepal defeated Malaysia by 9 wickets and approximately 7 overs remaining in their hand at the Tribhuvan University International Stadium Ground, Kirtipur in the ongoing T20 tri-nation series between Nepal, Malaysia and Netherlands.
After a victory in the last game, Nepal once again dominated Malaysia with both ball and the bat. Malaysia was dismissed for a very low total of 109 in the 17th over of the game. All-rounder Karan KC did the job with the ball for Nepal, he took 3 wickets giving away just 17 runs in his 3 overs spell. Karan was assisted by Sandeep Lamichaane with 2 wickets in his 3.5 overs spell. Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, Shahab Alam and Kushal Malla contributed with one wicket each for Nepal.
With Malaysia’s disastrous batting, it wasn’t very challenging for the host team to chase it down. Moreover, Nepal not only won the game but destroyed Malaysia’s bowling attack as well. The opening pair, Kushal Bhurtel (61not out) and Aasif Sheikh (42), fiercely dominated the Malaysian bowling side and accomplished a partnership of 102 in 11.1 overs
The opening partnership made sure a swift win for Nepal, claiming their Comprehensive win in the series. Not only it was Nepal’s second win but it also assisted them to rank first in the points table.
