IPL 2021: KL Rahul scores a calculated fifty against Mumbai Indians

Rahul went on to play calculative shots to bring up his half-century in 50 balls with a strike rate of 100.

The Punjab Kings won the toss and decided to field first against Mumbai Indians. Punjab’s bowlers restricted Mumbai for a low total of 131 for 6. Skipper KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal scored brilliantly in the powerplay scoring 45 runs.

With the ball turning a lot, Rahul went on to play calculative shots to bring up his half-century in 50 balls with a strike rate of 100. Although it wasn’t a quick fifty or a knock we know Rahul is capable of, but it was surely a much-needed knock for Punjab in such pitch situations. However, this was Rahul’s slowest century in the history of IPL.

It is KL Rahul’s 24th IPL fifty and third of the IPL 2021 edition. Punjab currently stands in the bottom three of the points table and more such performances are likely to change the course for the team in the tournament.
