The Sri Lankan team has finally arrived in Bangladesh on Sunday for their upcoming three-match ODI series against the host. Both the teams will lock horns on 23 May 2021. The Sri Lankan side will be led by a new leader Kusal Parera.
“What the selectors told me when they appointed me was that I often get a 50 or a 60 and get out without getting to a 100. I accept that. If I score a hundred, the chances of winning the match go up.” Perera said after getting assigned as the new Sri Lanka leader.
Sri Lanka will be kept under an isolation period of three days including a double Test procedure for COVID-19. All the Sri Lankan players will have to pass both the Test with a negative COVID-19 report before they could start practising.
All three ODIs will take place at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. However, both teams faced a defeat in their previous ODI games. Where Sri Lanka lost to West Indies by 3-0, Bangladesh was whitewashed by the Blackcaps in a three-match series.
Sri Lanka will fight against India after the World Test Championship and England tour. Both the teams will play white ball series including Five T20 internationals and three ODIs.
