Ravindra Jadeja spoke out about his famous celebration in the World Cup semi-final against New Zealand in 2019 by revealing that he was looking out for Sanjay Manjrekar in the commentary box to direct his sword celebrations towards him. The Indian all-rounder had played a crucial 77-run knock to bring Indian team hopes back to march towards the final within touching distance of victory before the whole team fell 18 runs short of the target in the end as they got bowled out for 221 against the Blackcaps.
Manjraker’s public jibe at Ravindra Jadeja had created humiliation by calling him a bits and pieces player. Jadeja soon after had hit back by labelling the remarks ‘verbal diarrhoea’ in an unusual reaction during a World Cup. Manjraker’s said that he is not a fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja was at that point of his career in 50-over cricket. In test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in ODIs Majraker would rather have a batsman and a spinner.
The question asked by the public to Jadeja was that they cannot mention the famous 2019 semi-final celebration towards Sanjay Manjrakar after the fifty! (which Manjraker had quoted Jadeja as bits and pieces player). Did he plan it? Did he know where the commentary box was? In response to the question, Jadeja replied that time the grill was hot and he was searching for the commentary box. Then he thought that it must be somewhere there and he further laughed at those people who understand that he was targeting the celebration at Sanjay Manjraker.
