Government of England allows Indian player’s families to travel with the team to England

The Indian men’s and women’s teams will leave for England tour on 2nd June. However, as the COVID-19 threat remains, both teams will have to abide by strict rules. Even before the flight to England, both teams want to maintain the COVID-19 safety guidelines. Even after moving to England, they are required to complete a ten-day quarantine.

The two teams are currently staying at a hotel in Mumbai. Family members of some of the players from both teams are also living with them. It was unclear whether they would be able to travel with the players on tour due to rules imposed by the England government. But now the British government has announced the decision.

The England government has allowed the family along with the players to travel on the tour. The COVID-19 has led to the rising of restrictions on travel by governments of other countries. Although the players were allowed in such a situation, there were doubts as to whether the family would be allowed. However, considering the long-term tour, the British government has now given permission.

So now after completing the COVID-19 guidelines in Mumbai, both the teams will leave for England on a chartered flight. But even after arriving in England, they will be required to complete ten days of strict quarantine. The men’s and women’s teams will spend the period at a hotel near Southampton’s grounds.

On this tour, the Indian men’s team will face New Zealand for the first time in the final of the World Test Championship. England will then play a series of five Test matches. The women’s team, on the other hand, will play the maiden Test match against England in Bristol for the first time. After that, they are scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20I matches against England.
