Discovery and WarnerMedia merge to form Warner Bros. Discovery; to be led by Discovery CEO

Discovery and WarnerMedia to complete their merger by mid-2022. The new entity will be called Warner Bros. Discovery.

On Tuesday, it was announced that Discovery CEO David Zaslav will be taking over as the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery. The merger of the two companies was proposed in May.

We believe it will be the best and most exciting place in the world to tell big, important and impactful stories across any genre — and across any platform: film, television and streaming.” Zaslav stated.

Warner Bros. Discovery are willing to spend $20 billion (about Rs. 1,46,425 crores) on content per annum, which is way more than Disney and Netflix. Zaslav aims for Warner Bros. Discovery to reach 400 million streaming subscribers globally.
