All India Football Federation provides ration kits, food packets to footballers in cyclone affected West Bengal

Cyclone Yaas ravaged a large number of areas in Sunderbans in the last week. West Bengals football governing body, the Indian football association have come forward to help the budding footballers from the region by providing them and their families with essential food items and ration kits.

According to AIFF, the IFA has its nursery football coaching centre in the Gosaba delta island in Sunderbans, provided the essential rations to the 63 young footballers in the region who have been training in that academy. IFA general secretary, Joydeep Mukherjee said that the cyclone has devastated these regions in the Sunderbans and many of these player’s family have been affected, we felt it was our duty to look out for their well-being and ensure that they get the essential items to sustain in this time. We have been with them during good times and now during these tough times, we need to ensure that they are taken care of.

The Sunderbans have been a prominent place when it comes to budding footballers in West Bengal and the youth dream of playing professionally so that they can improve their economic conditions. Sundarbans also gets affected by these natural calamities due to their extreme location but that doesn’t stop those players from chasing their dreams.
