Airtel shares price drop after upgradation of mobile networks in Himachal Pradesh

Bharti Airtel on Friday opened on the BSE at Rs 549 by deploying an additional 17.4 MHz spectrum to boost the network. Swinging to an intra day high of ₹ 549.85, and an intra day low of ₹ 540.05, in the trading session so far.

Manu Sood, CEO (Upper North) of Bharti Airtel Hub, in a statement said that Airtel deployed an additional 17.4 MHz spectrum across 900, 1800 and 2300 MHz bands along with advanced network software tools to bolster high-speed data capacity in it’s network.

Out of this, 2.6 MHz has been added in the 900 MHz band, 4.8 MHz in the 1800 MHz band, and 10 MHz in the 2300 MHz band.

This will allow improve network and better coverage, data speed inside homes and buildings in the urban and rural areas.

In the addition of this spectrum, which was acquired during the latest round of spectrum auctions.

Airtel now has the largest spectrum bank of 70 MHz in Himachal Pradesh.

Airtel has more than 2.98 million customers in the state and it’s network covers a population of 95.02 per cent of Himachal Pradesh.

On the NSE, it opened at Rs 545.90, inching to an intra day high of Rs 549.75, and then an intra low of Rs 540 in the session so far.

It was trading at 0.91 per cent lower at Rs 540.20 on the NSE

Shares of Bharti Airtel were last trading 0.72 per cent lower at ₹ 541.15 on the BSE.
