The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) named a 17-man strong squad for the series against Pakistan in September. The announced squad features cricketers like Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen-ul-Haq, and Rahmat Shah in the national team for a big upcoming series.
Star spinner Rashid Khan will return to the international game in September as has been selected in the Afghanistan cricket team for an ICC Cricket World Cup Super League series against Pakistan. The leg-spinner will play under the captaincy of new captain Hashmatullah Shahidi.

Afghanistan Cricket has also named four players as reserves for the series. The names include Qais Ahmad, Yousuf Zazai, Saleem Safi, and Sharafuddin Ashraf.
The schedule for the Afghanistan vs Pakistan ODI series is not out yet, but it is expected to happen in September. Meanwhile, IPL 2021 is scheduled to resume on September 19. Hence, there is a chance of a clash between the IPL and the Afghanistan-Pakistan series.
If this clash happens, big names from IPL like Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, and Mujeeb Ur Rahman could miss a few games in the second phase of IPL 2021. All three Afghanistan cricketers are part of the Sunrisers Hyderabad squad.
