Aguero on the verge of moving to Barcelona, agreement found over two-year contract

Many rumors have circulated and will continue to circulate regarding Sergio Aguero’s transfer to FC Barcelona. For several weeks, the possibility of joining his friend Lionel Messi in the next transfer window has been discussed. Although nothing is certain at this time, some Spanish media outlets are reporting that Aguero’s arrival is getting closer.

According to TYC Sports, Aguero has already agreed and the deal will soon be made official, most likely after the Champions League final, where City faces Chelsea in Portugal. Aguero has already been described as “crazy” to want to play for Barcelona and is willing to take a pay cut to do so. At Manchester City, he currently earns €12 million per year. He has agreed to take a pay cut of up to 40 percent at Barcelona.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta was well aware of Messi’s friendship with Aguero, and he initiated contact with the City forward’s advisors during the recent election. While signing Aguero would be a huge boost for Barcelona in and of itself, it increases the likelihood of Messi staying at the club.
Aguero may also run into a familiar face if he moves to Camp Nou, as Eric Garcia is also set to leave City this summer. Barcelona is interested in Aguero and Depay. At least one of the forwards is expected to arrive in the summer, effectively ending Martin Braithwaite’s career.

According to the report, Barcelona also wants “another forward who can lead the attack in the long term.” Erling Haaland’s name is mentioned, but a transfer is considered “almost impossible,” and Gerard Moreno’s name is also mentioned.
