Before the start of the Test series against England, the good news is coming out for the Indian team as Team India’s vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane has started his training. Rahane had earlier missed the warm-up match against County XI and his return to the field is good news for India team Management.
Apart from Ajinkya Rahane, Indian team captain Virat Kohli also did not take part in the match against County XI. It was believed that there was a problem with Kohli’s back and Ajinkya Rahane was suffering from a problem with the hamstring and was given an injection for the same.
As per the reports by PTI, Rahane not only managed to get in some fielding and physical training sessions, but he also had a proper net session at the Riverside Ground.
Many Indian players have been injured before the England series. Opener Shubman Gill, all-rounder Washington Sundar and fast bowler Avesh Khan have been ruled out of the England tour. This is the reason why the team management demanded a replacement. After which, the BCCI decided to send opener Prithvi Shaw and middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav on the England tour as replacements.
The Indian team was in a lot of trouble due to the continuous injury of players. In such a situation, Ajinkya Rahane’s coming to the field after getting fit is news of relief. Rahane has done well in England and that is why it becomes very important for him to be fully fit. He scored his crucial 103 at Lord’s on the tour of 2014.
The Virat Kohli-led team will play a Test series against England from August 4, marking the start of the second cycle of the World Test Championship.
