Bhooth Bangla is preparing to greet its followers even sooner! The planned comedy horror picture is now set to be released on April 10, 2026. Previously, it was disclosed that the film will be released in theatres on May 15, 2026, but the producers have since confirmed that the project has been postponed by more than a month. Akshay Kumar said on February 7 that Bhooth Bangla will now open in theatres on April 10, 2026.
On his Instagram, the actor shared a post with caption, “Bhooth Bangla ka countdown rewind! 15 May (X) 10 April (check). Milte hain theatres mein.” (The countdown rewinds for Bhooth Bangla, see you in the theaters).
It was followed by a video of a black cat prancing around and disclosing the date change with a scratch of its paw as the milk bowl lowers, and it purrs loudly in return before licking the calendar to disclose the new date. Check out the announcement below. Balaji Motion Pictures, a division of Balaji Telefilms Ltd, collaborated with Cape of Good Films to produce the film.
In addition to Akshay Kumar, the production will include Wamiqa Gabbi, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, and Rajpal Yadav in prominent parts. The film is directed by Priyadarshan and produced by Akshay Kumar, Shobha Kapoor, and Ektaa R Kapoor. While little is known about the film’s plot, it is supposed to be a genre-driven project about a haunted mansion, with roots in Indian mythology and black magic, as well as references to the Vedas.
Bhooth Bangla is Akshay Kumar and filmmaker Priyadarshan’s reunion project, 14 years after their last collaboration on Khatta Meetha (2010). They previously collaborated on films such as Hera Pheri (2000), Garam Masala (2005), Bhagam Bhag (2006), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), and De Dana Dan (2009).
