All India Traders Bharat Bandh today; demands review of GST provisions

The Confederation of All India Traders on Thursday announced their plan to keep all commercial markets across the country closed on Feb 26 and the reason for today’s Bharat Bandh is traders are demanding a review of the provisions of GST bill. In the last 4 years around 950 amendments have been added in the GST rule book and there are technical glitches and increase in data compliance have increased the burden for paying GST tax.

All India Transporters Welfare Association has also extended their support for today’s Bharat Bandh and they themselves will hold a chakka jam today.

  1. All commercial market across India will remain closed
  2. 40,000 trader’s association are part of the bandh
  3. CAIT will hold dharnas nationwide in over 1500 places
  4. Traders association are demanding that the Central, State government & GST Council review GST provisions.
  5. Also they want to simplify tax slab to make it easier for trader compliance

However, according to various reports All India Motor Transport Congress & Bhaichara All India Truck Operator Welfare Association have decided to be part of today’s strike.
