Applications for the position of MD and CEO invited by Punjab National Bank

Applications for the position of managing director (MD) and chief executive officer (CEO) of Punjab National Bank (PNB) were sought by the Banks Board Bureau. The applications for the post of Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PNB are being invited on full time basis by the Banks Board Bureau as mentioned by the BBB in a public notice.

As on September 19, the applicant should be in the age group of 45 to 57 years along with having an experience of over 15 years in the mainstream banking provided which at least one year should be at the board level as on the mentioned date, according to the notice.

From the date of entering the office as MD and CEO, the candidate shall hold the office for a term of three years subject to the age of superannuation as 60 years, as said by the Bank Board Bureau (BBB). For a compensation for MD and CEOs of large public sector banks, the remuneration shall be in line with the same and as may be approved by the competent authorities.

In terms of assets the Punjab National Bank (PNB) is the second largest bank in India. The lender has a network of over 10,760 branches, 1.03 lakh employees and global business worth ₹18.46 lakh crore after the amalgamation of Oriental Bank of Commerce and United Bank of India into the Punjab National Bank. PS Jayakumar was the last private banker to head a public sector bank as an MD and CEO at the Bank of Baroda for around four years between 2015 and 2019.
