The 30-second teaser video, which featured aquatic action and Jason Momoa brooding, indicated that the official trailer will be released in 4 days (on Thursday). However, for now, the studio offered us a trailer-esque video that felt more like being force-fed a Day-Glo seafood buffet into your eye-holes.
Director James Wan took to social media to drop the Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom teaser video. He wrote, “FINALLY! Trailer is arriving. This Thursday. AQUAMAN AND THE LOST KINGDOM – Only in theatres December 20.” In the comments section, a fan commented, “Lol is this a f*cking trailer for a trailer?”, causing the filmmaker to agree with the criticism and react with, “Haha. It’s funny, I know.” However, some fans are still shocked to see him point out the ridiculousness of his film getting a trailer teaser.
Following that, fans shared their views on the same. One fan commented, “He’s so done with this shit,” while wrote, “Sacrificing James Wan for James Gunn is a massive downgrade”. Another said, “That’s why I’m not watching the movie because you can tell he’s over it because WB messed up his movie.”
Fans also sympathized with the filmmaker, who faced constant interference from Warner Bros. Discovery and awful test screening results, leading to an extremely painful post-production process. The film Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be released on December 20.
