There are rumours that a follow-up to the 2012 Homi Adajania movie Cocktail is in the works.
Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon will rejoin in the sequel, which will be directed by Homi once more, following their Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya reunion, according to a Pinkvilla report. According to sources cited by the magazine, Dinesh Vijan will produce the follow-up to the popular movie. Similar to the original movie, there will be a romantic triangle and a search for a new female protagonist.
Recent reports also claim that Rashmika Mandanna’s name has been linked to the project. Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon will be reunited on Cocktail 2 following the triumph of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.
They cited a source who stated, “The pair adored the script and are eager to explore the world of this romantic comedy.”
Cocktail, which was released in 2012, changed Deepika’s life and catapulted her career. Imtiaz Ali wrote the story for the movie, which was a hit when it came out. It centred on a romantic triangle involving a playboy, a photographer, and a traditional girl.
According to reports, Luv will also be engaged in the sequel to the romantic comedy. According to reports, the movie’s casting is already under progress and will begin in May 2025.
Shahid, who was last seen in TBMAUJ, is collaborating with Pooja Hegde on Rosshan Andrews’ Deva. According to reports, he has also accepted Vishal Bharadwaj’s film proposals.
Kriti featured in Crew and the Netflix movie Do Patti after TBMAUJ. Kriti has not yet revealed her next endeavours.
