Arsenal is interested in signing Porto’s Jesus Corona as the club look to strengthen their right-wing options.
Corona is attracting major interest among clubs across Europe as Fiorentina and Sevilla are also reported to be among the clubs that are interested in signing the right-winger who can also play as a right-wing back. The 28-year old was a key player in the Porto side that reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League last season before eventually losing to Chelsea.
Corona’s current deal with Porto expires next summer and his contract is reported to have a £21.4million (€25m) release clause which is active until mid-July. This will prove to be advantageous to Arsenal especially in a pandemic impacted market where the Gunners need to sell players before they buy.
Willian looks set to leave Arsenal on a permanent transfer this summer after failing to live up to expectations upon his arrival from Chelsea last summer on a free transfer. Hector Bellerin has also been linked with a move away from London with Villareal, Real Betis and Atletico Madrid said to be interested in the right-back. Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his options on the right flank of his squad as Corona can fill in comfortably as a right-winger and right-wing back.
Corona scored three goals and providing 13 assists in 48 appearances in all competitions for Porto last season.
