Ayesha Jhulka Recalls Feeling Divya Bharti’s Presence During Film Screening

Bollywood actress Ayesha Jhulka recently shared her experience of feeling the presence of late actress Divya Bharti during the screening of their film Rang. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ayesha spoke about the close bond she shared with Divya while working on the 1993 romantic film.

Divya Bharti, who played Ayesha’s sister in Rang, passed away before the film’s release. Remembering their time together, Ayesha said, “We were very close. Even on other film sets, she would often visit me. She even bought matching shoes for both of us. Once, while I was shooting a song, she noticed I wasn’t wearing a bindi. She immediately got one from her room and gave it to me.”

Ayesha recalled how she struggled during the film’s dubbing sessions. “I couldn’t dub the scenes we had together. I kept crying, and the dubbing had to be postponed,” she said.

The most unforgettable moment for Ayesha was during the film’s preview at Film City. “It was an outdoor screening. The moment Divya appeared on the screen, it suddenly fell. At that moment, I strongly felt her presence. It was overwhelming, and I couldn’t sleep for a long time,” she shared.

Ayesha Jhulka made her Bollywood debut in 1991 with Kurbaan opposite Salman Khan. The film’s success brought her into the limelight. She later starred in Khiladi alongside Akshay Kumar, which became a turning point in her career. Her role in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar opposite Aamir Khan further established her as a leading actress.

Over the years, she also worked with stars like Mithun Chakraborty in Dalaal and appeared in numerous other successful films. With a career spanning over three decades, Ayesha has acted in more than 60 films, making a significant mark in Indian cinema.
