Actor Hema Malini is in Delhi to accept the late actor and husband Dharmendra’s humble Padma Vibhushan, India’s second-highest civilian award for his extensive, multi-decade contribution to Indian cinema. The first batch of honors will be formally presented today by President Droupadi Murmu.
Following the actor’s death in November 2025, the honor was given to him, as revealed in January of this year. Malini tells us from Delhi, “It’s an emotional moment for me.” Esha wanted to come but was unable to do so, and Ahana is with me. The family is all content. Everyone knows this, Sunny, Bobby, and it’s a significant occasion for all of us.
The He-Man of the Hindi cinema industry departed for his heavenly home at the age of 89, just weeks before turning 90. Many people felt empty inside when they learned of his death.
