Barcelona sets up clash vs Real Madrid in Super Cup final after 2-0 win over Osasuna

Barcelona defeated Osasuna 2-0 on Thursday, setting up a  Spanish Super Cup final Clasico rematch.

The Catalans defeated Real Madrid in the final last year and will play their bitter rivals again. On Sunday, Real defeated Atletico Madrid in an eight-goal thriller in the first semi-final in Saudi Arabia.

Sergio Herrera kept Barcelona at bay until Ilkay Gundogan slipped in veteran attacker Lewandowski to open the score just before the hour mark.

Despite not playing at his best this season, the 35-year-old found his strong form to give his club the lead.

In stoppage time, 16-year-old Yamal scored his first goal since October to seal the win for Barca.

Last season’s Super Cup victory against Madrid won Xavi Hernandez his first trophy as coach and set up the Spanish champions well for their league title tilt.

The teams will face off again in Riyadh’s Al-Awwal Park stadium, with Barcelona looking to kickstart their season after a poor start.

Barcelona’s win against Osasuna was their first by more than one goal since September, amid a disappointing run of form.
