Barcelona store accidentally displays Memphis Depay shirts

Barcelona online stores displayed reported transfer target Memphis Depay shirts.

Reports from Spain suggest that Barcelona’s online stores had displayed shirt with Depay’s name this Saturday. The Dutch striker has been linked with a move to Barcelona since last summer and could finally make his move to the club this summer, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

The jersey was displayed on the site for a few minutes before the site was taken down due to errors and is in maintenance. The Dutch international prefers the name Memphis on the back of his shirt and it appears as if Barcelona accidentally leaked the news of the transfer before the official announcement.

Memphis Depay’s contract at Lyon expires this summer and he has been heavily linked with a move to Camp Nou. But a few days back it was reported that Juventus has also entered the race to sign the striker on a free transfer. the Italian club reportedly offered better terms and salary over Barcelona’s offer. Barcelona hoped that Depay would choose La Liga over the Serie A due to the allure of playing for Barcelona and linking up with his former Netherlands national team coach Ronald Koeman.

Depay has scored 20 goals and racked up 12 assists for Olympique Lyonnais in 37 appearances in the 2020/21 Ligue 1 season.
