BCCI announces IPL schedule for 2025-2027 seasons, confirms Jofra Archer’s full availability

In a significant development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the schedules for the next three Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons. Breaking from tradition, the announcement comes well in advance, reflecting a shift towards better planning and alignment with international cricket calendars.

IPL Schedule for 2025-2027:

  • IPL 2025: March 14 (Friday) to May 25 (Sunday)
  • IPL 2026: March 15 (Sunday) to May 31 (Sunday)
  • IPL 2027: March 14 (Sunday) to May 30 (Sunday)

This pre-announcement ensures clarity for franchises, broadcasters, and players, avoiding last-minute adjustments witnessed in previous editions.

Jofra Archer Confirmed for Three IPL Seasons

The BCCI has also confirmed that star England pacer Jofra Archer will be available for the full IPL 2025 season and subsequent two seasons. Archer, whose skill set is highly valued in the league, has committed to participating fully in the league’s current cycle.

Interestingly, Archer has been placed at Player No. 575 in the auction register, meaning his name will feature in the accelerated auction phase after the marquee set. While his base price is not explicitly mentioned in the BCCI’s communication, sources confirm he is in the INR 2 crore bracket.

In addition to Archer, two new players—Saurabh Netravalkar (USA) and Hardik Tamore (MCA)—have been added to the player pool for the upcoming auction.

Deepak Hooda Among Suspect Bowlers List

The BCCI has also released a list of bowlers under scrutiny for suspect bowling actions. Key highlights include:

  • Banned Bowlers:
    • Manish Pandey (KSCA)
    • Shrijith Krishnan (KSCA)
  • Suspect Bowlers:
    • Deepak Hooda (RCA)
    • Saurabh Dubey (VCA)
    • KC Cariappa (CAM)

The inclusion of Deepak Hooda, an off-spinner and established domestic cricketer, in the suspect action list may have repercussions for his IPL prospects.
