BJP President J.P Nadda confirms alliance with AIADMK in upcoming Tamil Nadu polls

National president of the Party (BJP) J.P  Nadda confirmed that their alliance with AIADMK will continue in the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. The elections will take place between April-May.

He said in a public meeting that both parties will jointly contest the election. This announcement comes at the time of supposed tension between the two parties. The AIADMK said previously that the current Chief Minister Enappadi K Palaniswamy will contest for the same position in the next election. The chief minister had earlier dispelled rumours of inner friction within the members of the AIADMK concerning their alliance with the BJP.

The police last November arrested BJP leader L Murugan because he had a roadshow during the pandemic. A music video related to the roadshow portrayed Murugan as the next Chief Minister and caused tension between the BJP and the AIADMK.
