Can the lions make their way to European glory for the first time in their history

England’s final 26 man squad was received very well by the football pundits and the general public as Gareth Southgate has tried to blend experience with youthful exuberance for this summer’s competition in Europe. Even though they have produced the best footballers in the world, they have not managed to win a single prominent international trophy in their history, but this tournament could be a good opportunity for them.

Many young and inexperienced players in the squad:-

England’s squad is one of the youngest ever to play in this tournament. Southgate had called up Jude Bellingham, the Borussia Dortmund forward who could become the youngest ever appearance maker or goalscorer in this competition. Players like Declan Rice, Kalvin Phillips, Bukayo Saka don’t have much experience when it comes to playing at the international level and that might cause some worries to Southgate when he’ll be looking for options in his bench in a game. His decision to include four right-backs was considered absurd by some people but their ability to adapt to different positions on the field is commendable but Trent Arnold’s injury ahead of this summers competition has caused some distress among England fans as he would have been a critical part of the squad.

Key players:-

Experienced players like Jordan Henderson, Harry Maguire, Ben Chilwell, Luke Shaw, Kyle Walker Jordan Pickford, Jack Grealish, Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane will be providing maturity and sensible thinking in the game while players like Marcus Rashford, Mason Mount, Phil Foden, Declan Rice, Jadon Sancho will be providing the speed and agility that is needed to play the quick counter-attacking football that England is known for.

Harry Kane has been in the best form of his life and was awarded the Golden Boot in Premier League, he also got the highest assists in the league. Phil Foden has won the Young player of the season, all these achievements will give these players the motivation that they need to perform well in this competition and aim for the glory that they have missed for a long time.
