Chelsea beat Manchester City to win the UEFA Champions League title

Chelsea won the UEFA Champions League against Manchester in a thrilling game in Porto that resulted in a 1-0 victory where Kai Havertz’s goal in the first half made all the difference for the blues.

The game started with a tense atmosphere between the English clubs, in the starting stage of the game, Thiago Silva got injured and he had to leave the pitch after a stretched groin muscle, De Bruyne also got injured after he collided with Chelsea defender Rudiger in the second half. Kai Havertz scored a great goal in the first half with a sublime through ball from English midfielder Mason Mount in the 42nd minute.

Chelsea was playing exceptionally well on the defensive side as Ngolo Kante didn’t let the Manchester City attack get through the Chelsea defence. He acted as a saviour for the Chelsea side and helped the defensive line in maintaining the lead until the very last minute. Kante was also awarded man of the match for his sublime performance on the pitch in this important final that came after a loss in the FA Cup final.

Manchester City got a few chances but was not able to convert them. After De Bruyne left the pitch, their midfield couldn’t function very well and they were not able to penetrate the Chelsea defence. This was the first Champions League final for Manchester City in their history but they couldn’t win it despite giving their full efforts.
