Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have strengthened their coaching staff by appointing Sridharan Sriram as the assistant bowling coach for the upcoming 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Sriram, who has extensive coaching experience in international cricket and the IPL, will work alongside head coach Stephen Fleming, batting coach Michael Hussey, and bowling consultant Eric Simons.
A former India international, Sriram played eight ODIs and had brief IPL stints with Royal Challengers Bengaluru (2010) and Delhi Capitals (2011). His coaching career includes serving as Australia’s spin bowling coach and as a technical consultant for Bangladesh. He has also been part of IPL franchises such as RCB, Delhi Capitals, Punjab Kings, and most recently, Lucknow Super Giants.
At CSK, Sriram will oversee a formidable spin unit featuring Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Shreyas Gopal, and Noor Ahmad. CSK will begin their IPL 2025 campaign with a marquee clash against Mumbai Indians at home on March 23.
