Cinematography minister criticises Pushpa 2: The Rule, says it ‘ruining the youth’

Despite an unanticipated controversy surrounding the film’s release, Pushpa 2: The Rule has been a huge box office success. A rush broke out in Hyderabad on the eve of the movie’s release, leaving a mother dead and a kid critically injured.

After being taken into custody last week, Allu Arjun was freed on bail the following day. After seeing the movie, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the minister of cinematography, has now commented on it, stating that it only succeeds in destroying young people.

“If you think Pushpa 2 is good, watch it,” Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, the minister of cinematography, stated in Telugu during his remarks at the press conference on Saturday.

“I also watched it. I’ve made the decision to only watch Telangana, devotional, or historical films going forward. Because after viewing this movie and putting off my work for three and a half hours, I recognised that it would only harm young people.” He then gave the stampede victims’ families a cheque for ₹25 lakhs.

At Hyderabad’s Sandhya Theatre, where Allu Arjun was also present along with his wife Sneha Reddy and co-star Rashmika Mandanna, a stampede-like situation broke out. Revathi, 35, died in the rush, and her kid is still in critical condition in the hospital.

Allu Arjun was freed from the Hyderabad jail last week after his detention. MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi and Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy have also levelled some grave accusations against the actor.
