CM Naidu announces waste-to-wealth projects, new hospital and power plant in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh

N Chandrababu Naidu, the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, stated on Saturday that the TDP-led NDA government is attempting to generate “wealth out of waste” and pledged to show how to make money off of household waste.

Speaking at a public gathering at the Kakinada district’s Peddapuram hamlet as part of the Swarnandhra–Swachandhra campaign, Naidu stated that single-use plastic should be prohibited, e-waste should be recycled, and rubbish may be turned into compost at home.

“We’re considering converting waste into money.” He said that waste collection trucks would soon be dispatched to people’s homes to gather discarded plastic and e-waste for profit, saying, “There are many ways.”

In order to produce electricity, Naidu pledged to establish a 15 MW waste-to-energy facility in Peddapuram that would gather trash from every municipality in the Kakinada district. According to him, the project, which is expected to cost ₹330 crore, will be finished in 18 months. In addition, the chief minister promised the people that a 100-bed hospital would be built in Peddapuram and that ₹75 crore would be used to build drinking water facilities in Samarlakota and Peddapuram.

Citing mosquitoes’ significance in the spread of diseases like dengue and chikungunya, he also promised to use drones to remove them. The NDA administration “knows how to create wealth, increase income, and redistribute it to society through welfare,” Naidu declared, adding that “health is the most important thing, and I will do everything for poor people.”

Speaking of the TDP’s Super Six set of election pledges, Naidu claimed that although some had written them off as impractical, the government has already produced outcomes. He asserted that the “Stree Shakti” free bus travel program has benefited one crore women.

He stated, “Everyone is saying Super Six is a super hit,” citing programs like free bus transportation, 15,000 year for qualified school-age children, and 20,000 annually for farmers. In order to “lessen the burden on the poor and increase their purchasing power,” Naidu also pledged to carry out the tax reforms proposed by the Centre. Naidu accused the YSRCP of spreading “false publicity,” including allegations that Amaravati was inundated, and specifically targeted opposition leader Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

He asserted that the YSRCP drowned, not Amaravati. In addition to making Amaravati a world-class metropolis, Naidu pledged to finish the Polavaram Project by 2027 and dedicate it to the country. Additionally, Naidu said that 16 categories, including clean municipalities, gramme panchayats, bus stations, NGOs, and green ambassadors, would receive the Swachandhra Awards on October 2.

In the future, Naidu stated that Andhra Pradesh should become Swarna Andhra Pradesh and become the nation’s top state by 2047.
