COVID-19 interrupts Tom Cruise starrer ‘Mission: Impossible 7’

The latest ‘Mission: Impossible 7’ shooting has been paused after a few crew members have tested positive for COVID-19.

The filming of the seventh installment of ‘Mission Impossible’ is currently in progress in Britain.Paramount Pictures on Thursday said that the shooting has been halted for two weeks after some crew members tested positive for coronavirus.

Paramount in the statement said, “We have temporarily postponed production on Mission: Impossible 7 until June 14th, due to positive coronavirus test results during a routine examination. We are following all the safety measures and will continue to monitor the situation.”
The movie studio did not elaborate, who or how many people had sampled positive but Britain’s Sun publication said lead Tom Cruise was not among them. The Sun newspaper said 14 members of the crew have been tested positive after shooting a nightclub scene, and the Cruise like other people working on the set have isolated for 14 days.

“Misson Impossible” is one of the biggest franchise in Hollywood. The seventh part of the series is expected to release in May 2022. This is the first film of the series which was shut down during production because of the epidemic when it cancelled filming in Venice, Italy in February last year. Shooting had resumed last year in countries like Norway, Italy and Britain. Tom Cruise was also caught on audiotape last December yelling at the unit over violations of COVID-19 safety protocols.
