Dangal actor Suhani Bhatnagar, who played young Babita Phogat, dies at 19

On February 17, in Delhi, Suhani Bhatnagar, who portrayed a young Babita Kumari Phogat in Aamir Khan’s “Dangal,” passed away. She was just 19. After suffering a fracture in the leg, the actress had a side effect from the medication. Her death has been confirmed by Aamir Khan’s production house.

Aamir Khan productions note reads, “We are deeply saddened to hear about our Suhani passing away. Our heartfelt condolences to her mother Poojaji, and the entire family. Such a talented young girl, such a team player, Dangal would have been incomplete without Suhani.  Suhani, you will always remain a star in our hearts May you rest in peace (sic).”

According to a Jagran report, Suhani had previously had a leg fracture, and the medication she got during treatment reportedly caused a negative effect. Her body began to retain fluid, according to reports and this is believed to be the cause of her death. But official confirmation of the same is still pending.

She was reported taken to the AIIMS hospital in Delhi for treatment. Her last rites will take place on Saturday.

Suhani rose to fame after portraying young Babita Kumari Phogat in the 2016 movie ‘Dangal’. She shared the screen alongside Aamir Khan, Sakshi Tanwar and Zaira Wasim.
