Delhi Capitals fast bowler Avesh Khan disclosed that Indian and Royal Challengers skipper Virat Kohli praised him, post-game when he sent back Kohli to the pavilion during the 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He also emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker of the IPL 2021, which is being temporarily suspended.
Before the suspension of this season of the IPL by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Avesh Khan took 14 wickets in 8 games and climbed to the top of the table. And also he managed to dismiss MS Dhoni and Faf du Plessis for a duck in his opening match of the IPL 2021.
On Saturday, Avesh Khan told Cricket Next that after the match of Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, RCB skipper Virat Kohli praised him for his bowling and also wishes him to continue his bowling journey like this.
“I spoke with Kohli during IPL when DC played RCB. He told me that I bowled well and should continue doing this”, Avesh stated.
He conveyed his pleasure by saying that he succeeded in sending the former Indian and CSK present captain MS Dhoni back to the pavilion for a two-ball duck in the second match of the IPL-2021. He also emerged as the second-highest wicket-taker of this 14th season of IPL. Also, he said taking the wicket of both the legends was his happiest moment.
“Both (Dhoni and Kohli) are legends of Indian cricket. I enjoyed dismissing both of them. For a budding cricketer like me, they were joyous occasions,” Khan added.
