Rekha Gupta, the chief minister, declared on Saturday that Delhi will receive its first official logo on November 1. According to a statement from the chief minister’s office, a special committee that was established by the chief minister to choose the logo convened earlier in the day to examine submissions from an all-India competition.
Cabinet ministers Parvesh Sahib Singh and Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Chief Secretary Rajeev Verma, and other high-ranking officials attended the meeting, which was presided over by Gupta. According to the announcement, the logo, which will be unveiled on November 1st, Delhi Day (Foundation Day), will represent harmony between the city’s progress and culture.
According to Gupta, this would be the first official logo of the Delhi government and will showcase the capital’s unique personality as well as its contemporary, open, and people-focused governance. The committee reviewed the designs that made the short list out of over 1800 submissions from the competition that was held last month. The statement went on to say that the final designs were selected following lengthy negotiations.
According to her, the final logo will be officially unveiled on November 1 after being accepted at a future meeting. It will become the everlasting symbol of India’s capital city after it is released. According to the chief minister, Delhi has yet to have an official logo to symbolize its identity, in contrast to the majority of other states. She claimed that shortly after taking office, her government started the process of designing one.
More than 1,800 entries from all over the nation were received for a logo design competition that was held on the mygov.in platform, she continued. “It is an honor for my government to have the chance to choose Delhi’s official logo,” she remarked, expressing her excitement for the project. The capital’s distinctive character will be established as a new emblem with this design.
According to Gupta, the chosen logo will represent a contemporary, open, and people-centered government and contribute to Delhi’s positioning as a powerful brand representing democratic principles, technology innovation, and public engagement. She added that it will also represent the vitality, solidarity, and advancement that characterize the nation’s capital.
