Dhurandhar: The Revenge continues blockbuster run, collects over ₹55 crore on Monday

Dhurandhar: The Revenge is expected to gross more than Rs. 55 crore nett on its first Monday at the Indian box office, possibly around Rs. 56-57 crore nett. That’s a 20-25 percent decline from Friday, which is a fairly solid hold in general, especially given the film’s collections. The picture, which suffered capacity problems over the weekend, had a significant spillover, and a strong Monday hold was always expected.

The advances predicted Rs. 50 crore more every day, and the film delivered on that. The picture has retained weekend pricing on weekdays, resulting in larger receipts. Furthermore, the dubbed versions of the picture have performed admirably, particularly the Telugu, which will earn over Rs. 3 crore nett, down approximately 30% from a holiday opening day.

Post-Eid, the box office stays elevated in Muslim-populated areas, so some of that bump is likely at play, but the holds are excellent even in areas where the boost is minimal or non-existent. Consider Punjab, which has little Muslim population and receives absolutely no benefit from the Post-Eid increase; yet, the dip from Friday will be less than 15%. A similar trend exists in other non-Muslim populated areas.

That is not to argue that there is no Post-Eid bounce; in fact, Uttar Pradesh (apart from the NCR cities of Noida and Ghaziabad) has the most marked surge. Monday will be nearly equal to Friday, with a single-digit loss, but given how the time generally unfolds, Monday could have been higher than Friday here. The bigger point is that the film’s appeal is primarily intrinsic, with little assistance from Post Eid.

The film’s five-day box office collections are estimated to be approximately Rs. 440 crore (nett). The film will gross Rs. 500 crore nett on Wednesday, the seventh day of its release, and will complete its extended first week with Rs. 550 crore nett.
