‘Do keep coming’: PM Narendra Modi to Mick Jagger after singer’s surprise visit to India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Saturday that he is delighted that iconic rockstar Mick Jagger enjoyed his stay in India. PM Modi, a Grammy Award nominee himself, shared the title of one of Mick’s popular songs in a post on X.

“‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’, but India is a land brimming with seekers, offering solace and ‘Satisfaction’ to all. Delighted to know you found joy among the people and culture here. Do keep coming,” PM Modi stated on the microblogging website.

Mick Jagger released a video of himself singing and expressing his joy during his stay in India in a post mixed with Hindi on X on Friday.  “Thanks India. Got away from it all here! Away from routine work, I am very happy at coming to India,” he wrote.

The rocker shared a series of photos on his Instagram account, capturing the sights and sounds of Kolkata’s Festival of Lights. Alongside the post, he penned, “Happy Diwali and Kali Pujo. Happy Diwali and Jai Kali Maa.”

The first image showed him standing on the streets of Kolkata wearing a distinctive printed shirt, pants, and cap. He was photographed posing with replicas of mythical bhoots artwork. Mick also posed for a photo with Ma Kali. He also shared a video of an artisan working on an idol of the goddess Jagaddhatri.
