E-bike with wireless charging developed by KL University students

A unique electric bike with wireless charging technology has been developed by the students from KL Deemed to be University. With the help of a few University alumni members, the innovative prototype was developed by a team of six 3rd and 4th-year students belonging to the electrical and electronics engineering department of the college.

Including cell balancing and wireless charging, the e-bike has futuristic features which are only available in a few places across the globe. Utilizing the free access to state of heart labs and testing facilities provided by the University, the initial concept and prototype of the e-bike were developed.

Along with receiving a Grant of ₹1,40,000 from the university for incubating the project idea as a start-up, the team also received mentorship and constant feedback from experts and senior academicians of the institution.

In standard conditions, the charging capacity of the e-bike developed by the students of KL University can cover between 85 to 100 km and will allow people to travel at a maximum speed of 55 km per hour.

The project of a wirelessly chargeable e-bike shall prove to be a testimony to the innovative mindset and futuristic approach of the KL University students, as said by university President Koneru Satyanarayana.
