Emilia-Romagna Open: Serena Williams to enter the league after accepting a wild-card invitation in Parma

American star Tennis player Serena Williams accepted the offer to enter the Emilia Romagna Open as a wild-card contestant in Parma starting this weekend. The invitation was proposed just after American lost to Nadia Podoroska in the first match of the Italian Open on Wednesday.

“Maybe I do need a few more matches, so I’m going to try to figure that out with my coach and my team and see what we would like to do,” Williams said after losing to Podoroska, a semifinalist at last year’s French Open.

Organisers said that not only Serena but her sister Venus Williams also accepted the wild-card invitation for the same. The Romagna Open in Parma starts on Sunday, which was added to the calendar amid this COVID-19 pandemic.
