England vs India: Test series set to be played in front of full capacity crowd

The upcoming Test series between India and England will be played in front of capacity crowds.

After the British government announced the lifting of all COVID19 restrictions on the gathering of people, the upcoming Test series between India and England will be played in front of capacity crowds. British Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed on Monday that all legal COVID19 restrictions, including mandatory use of masks and crowd restrictions for indoor, outdoor, and sporting events, will end on July 19.

“We will remove all legal limits on the numbers of meeting indoors and outdoors,” Prime Minister Boris Johnson was quoted as saying by ‘Sky Sports’.

“We will allow all businesses to reopen, including nightclubs. We will lift the limit on number of visitors to care homes and number of people attending concerts, theatres and sports events,” PM added.

“We will move away from legal restrictions and allow people to make their own informed decisions about how to manage the virus.”

The five-match Test series between India and England will begin in Nottingham on August 4. The Indian players are currently enjoying their break and will gather again on July 14.

The World Test Championship (WTC)  Final between India and New Zealand was held in Southampton last month, with a limited number of spectators were allowed to enter the stadium.
