FC Barcelona win the UEFA Women’s Champions League

FC Barcelona women team thrashed Chelsea in the final of this editions UEFA Women’s Champions League by 4-0, they ran rampant against the London-based clubs and sealed a comfortable win for the Catalan side.

The goal spree started with an own goal by Chelsea’s M. Leupolz in the first minute of the game. After that, Barcelona started to dominate Chelsea and scored another goal in the 14th minute through a penalty by Putelles. Another goal came in the 20th minute through Bonmati and Graham Hensen increased the lead of FC Barcelona to four goals in the first half only.

Chelsea showed composure in the second half and was able to stop Barcelona from increasing their goal total but that was not enough as the damage had already been done.

This is the first European title for the FC Barcelona side as this competition was heavily dominated by the French powerhouse, Lyon who won the last four UEFA Women’s Champions League consecutively, but were defeated by PSG in the quarter-finals and Barcelona defeated Paris in the semi-finals to book their place in the final and win the title for the first time in their history.
