The winner in the semi-final between Nadal and Djokovic will be playing against the winner between Stefanos Tsitsipas and Alexander Zverev.

It was the second career meeting of Berrettini where he lost to Djokovic. They had first met at the 2019 ATP finals. Italian world number 8 made it into the quarterfinals after Roger Federer withdrew despite winning. Federer, who overcame four-set victory against Dominik Koepfer underwent two knee surgeries in 2020, decided to give his knees rest. He will be back for the Wimbledon.

German professional Alexander Zverev had beaten Alejandro Davidovich Fokina with 6-4, 6-1, 6-1 and reached the semis to play against Stefano Tsitsipas, who defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-4, 7-6, 7-5.

King of Clay had defeated Djokovic in the 2020 French Open final. He reached into the semis after overcoming Diego Schwartzman, just like how it happened in this year’s French Open. Nadal has never lost in the Roland Garros semifinal.

Recently crowned Belgrade Open, Djokovic has now extended his unbeaten run and has played nine matches across five tournaments since winning the 2021 Australian Open. It took only around half an hour for him to take the second set against the Italian professional 6-2.

The French open women’s semifinal games are scheduled to be played on June 10 while the men’s semifinal games are scheduled on June 11.
